The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render services towards the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering providers including new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency explained it can be alarmed about the large number of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the significant amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no thoroughly functional office devoted to service the area status sassa on a daily basis. The services point made for intervention encounters a high inflow of opportunity beneficiaries, which makes it tough with the office to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra methods to enable the servicing of all prospects and enhance access to Social Assistance SRD services,” the agency said.
